- 1.5 lbs flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- Marinate the Steak: In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and brown sugar. Add the sliced flank steak and toss until evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to absorb all the rich flavors.
- Sear the Beef: Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat. Stir-fry the marinated beef until it is browned and caramelized. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
- Cook the Vegetables: In the same pan, add a touch more oil if needed. Sauté the onion, red and green bell peppers, garlic, and ginger. Cook until the vegetables are tender-crisp, maintaining their bright color and texture.
